Cambugahay is a 3-tiered waterfall. We spent almost 2 hours of our tour here. The water is very clear and blue. At the lowest tier, there’s an improvised swing you could use for free. The water is very swim-able. You could also jump from the top of the falls since the base is deep enough. Make sure you ask the guides there where to jump. The lowest tier is where most tourists swim.
Several years ago, Cambugahay Falls was not recognized by the Tourism Department of Siquijor in the Philippines because of its untidy area and unpleasant surroundings. Years after, the relentless efforts of the Local Government Unit’s of Siquijor especially the drive of its tourism authorities paid off. They have beautified the area and removed all the displeasing things in Cambugahay Falls. Now, it is a breathtaking scenery of 3 levels of pool with pristine blue waters.
One of the most popular destinations in the island, Cambugahay Falls in Lazi town is proof that Siquijor is more than just beaches. Cambugahay Falls is a short distance from the parking area. There is a P5-P20 fee depending on the type of vehicle you are using. Just cross the road and walk down a series of concrete steps to the first pool. The first pool of Cambugahay Falls is the deepest and the most excellent for swimming. The other two on the top levels are not as deep. It can get crowded on weekends but during weekdays you can sometimes use it solo.
